The government announced, Women officer can now get permanent commissions in 10 branches of the Indian Army. - A defence public sector undertaking, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), presented SWAGAT– the automatic Fare Collection Gating System. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the system as part of the inaugural of Phase -i of Ahmedabad metro. SWAGAT -is an initiative steered by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with BEL and Centre for development of Advance computing (CDAC) with the support of Delhi Metro Corporation (DMRC) , National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) and State Bank of India.
